African Shark Eco-Charters operates out of Simon’s Town, 40 minutes from Cape Town. Our payment office is The Great White Shark Shop and is situated in Shop 6A, Quayside Building, Main Rd, Simon’s Town. We depart from the Simon’s town Pier. Our boat is Blue Pointer 2.
We offer shark cage diving as well as great white shark breaching and shark predation ALL ON ONE TRIP. Nowhere in the world does this activity occur on a regular basis as False Bay (in shark season),plus its only 40 min from Cape Town.

• We are one of the few companies, where we, the owners, personally go out to sea on almost every trip. This allows us to share our passion and knowledge with our guests. By operating this way, we attract serious shark lovers, as well as guests wanting a quality trip.
• We are an eco-friendly operation.
• Our aim is to make each trip a personal experience with the great white sharks and so we only take out small groups between 8-12.
• We operate in False Bay. False Bay is home to the breaching great white sharks. It is a protected bay and we are not affected by bad winter storms as are some other areas.
• Our trips are longer than most (7am-12h45). This means your clients get to spend more time with the sharks, dive for longer, and have a more enjoyable trip.

BOAT INFO

Our boat, Blue Pointer 2, is a custom built 36ft GECAT. Powered by 2 x 250 E-TEC engines, with low fuel emissions, it is fast and quiet. Very few guests have suffered from sea sickness on our vessel but motion sickness prevention is suggested.

We comply with all safety requirements of SAMSA and MCM. The “Blue Pointer 2” has an enclosed cabin with cushioned seats, a flush toilet and dry storage lockers. An upper viewing deck is a great spot for shark viewing.

We limit our vessel to a maximum of 12 guests even though similar sized vessels in other white shark areas take more than 20-25 guests. Some operators even take 40 on a boat.
